The screen makes you loose the visual contact, somebody that checks the weather on his handy (携帯) does not look at you anymore, he speaks but looks at the screen as he was talking to the machine.

With the web cam you face an image instead of a person. The spectator can be virtual. It is sometimes defined as an interface.
